A strong indicator of the health of populations is height, which is generally increased by improving nutrition and health care, and is also influenced by the standard of living and quality of life. Genetics is also a major factor in people’s height. The study of human growth, its regulators, and its implications is known as Auxology.

Even everyday activities require upper body strength, especially in the biceps (which help bend the arms), the triceps (which straighten the arms) and the deltoids (which lift the arms). The traditional push-up is an excellent way to strengthen all these muscles at once.

One approach to improving the health of patients with schizophrenia is to improve the monitoring of physical health that occurs in psychiatric settings.
The minimum recommended for good health is 30 minutes of ‘moderate’ activity, five (or preferably, seven) days a week, according to Australia’s National Physical Activity Guidelines (pdf document), established in 1999. Moderate intensity is defined as a level that causes a ’slight but noticeable increase in breathing and heart rate’.
